Hi everyone!

I need to quickly post these pictures, else I would forget about them becoz I have an upcoming birthday party to go to this Friday and then Im pretty sure I would take a million pictures there.
:p

Lunch 12pm - 3pm and Dinner until late 7 days a week

Dining day or night, the view from The Point Restaurant is one of the best Melbourne has to offer. The space is stylish and modern, combining award winning cuisine by Bocuse d’or competitor, Executive Chef Scott Pickett and an impressive wine list. The Point showcases Australia’s finest beef from Victoria, Cape Grim Tasmania and the Clare Valley South Australia, delivering our guests with a contemporary approach to classic dishes.

Last weekend was spent in Melbourne where I had the delightful (albeit, abit irritating coz they always make fun of me.) company of my lovely friends at a steak restaurant as famous for its steak as for its view.

I wore a simple white & black combo.

Sometimes I thank God for my generous friends.
:p

I found the food to be pretty good, but the prices were too exorbitant though.
The view was great, although it was too dark to admire it.
But my friends tell me that going at lunchtime would be just perfect to gaze at the lake opposite the restarant.

Chian who is doing his masters in Melbourne.
We've been friends forever, and he has recently married a great girl so I do wish him the best, and I cant wait for him to be back.

Top Left to Right:
Warm yummy bread.. our amuse bouche, my medium rare wagyu beef and delicious honey carrots.

The place has a modern uptempo feel, and it was crowded so reservations recommended please.

Philip is there for a holiday and the boys went to a vineyard to stay!
How cool! Waking up to wine sounds like a great idea.
Hmmph.. I wish I was there too coz I alcoholic* like them too.

The handsome boys.
P.s Philip still single!
Wakakakkaka.

After a great dinner and finishing a bottle of wine, we headed for the city.

Driving along Chinatown.. it made me miss Jungle Boy very much!
Melbourne has always been a very special place to us becoz that was where we came for our first holiday together.
:)

Playing with a magic mirror!
Hahahha!~

Something closer to my heart.. PANCAKES N ICE CREAM!

They bery irritating rite..

And I just wanted to take a picture of the giant clock on the wall but someone had to pose for me.. -_-

After laughing and laughing and filling up with vanilla ice-cream.. we headed home soon as Philip and me were leaving the next morning.

"Happiness is time spent with a friend and looking foward to sharing time with them again."

Absolutely a great end to the weekend with many more to come, I hope!

Bye all, take care.
God bless.

Written at Tuesday, May 26, 2009 | back to top

Helllooooo!
Isn't it a lovely day?
It rained alittle then now the sun is back up and I love the smell of grass & rain.
:D

I hope Im not too late coz I spent like 2 hours alone doing up my pictures from last week, hi-tea and dinner with my lovely friends & family here and half across the world.

Geez... I really have ALOT of pictures, man.
Looking at them alone is giving me a massive headache becoz I have to collage them, tag them, post them, blog them.. etc.

But whenever I look at the pictures I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.. like falling in love for the first time becoz I feel so blessed to have such great company wherever I go.

And sometimes travelling can be a lonely thing.

I live out of my suitcase so much I feel like an octopus sometimes.
Or wishing I can be at two places at one time.

But never would I grumble about losing sleep to meet friends, nor would I brush them off aside becoz they are my life and I will always try to be there for them.

People tell me that they cannot find a true friend.. but sometimes u have to ask urself truthfully - Are u being a good friend yourself?

That is why I am extremely grateful for my chums.. I really feel that they have been there for me, no matter rain or shine.

They will ask me about my day, comfort me (with food usually) , make fun of me (always), but would never fail to listen to me.

And even if I couldnt be there personally at times, I would try my best to reach out no matter which end of the world I am in.
:)

Okies.. getting alittle teary-eyed now.
Im a big baby, sometimes!
:p

Back to my gazillion pictures..
I'll start right from the beginning, eh?

BFF MIKO'S BELATED BIRTHDAY

Becoz we were all busy, we had to do a simple one unfortunately for our BFF but I know she doesnt mind one bit!

Well.. we did buy her cake and a present ok.
N I even threw in a bouquet of roses for good measure!

But my BFFs would beg to differ.
Coz dunno ish I buy for birthday gal or for myself.
:p

Damn mean laaa they all.
Basket.

We love cake!

We love her and this would be the last year she is celebrating her birthday as a Miss.
ROFL.. somebody next year Mrs Koh wor.

Think we are really getting old.
When we first knew each other it was partying, clothes, bags and going out.

Now its wedding rings, houses and hotels.
:)

We spent the night laughing so hard we cried.
I cant remember much, but it was pretty much a lovely night spending time with ur best friends.

NEW YORK * NEW YORK

I love New York.
I've always loved that place becoz of its vibrancy, its nightlife, its dirty streets.
Ok, kidding.

I love the shopping and the people.
I get to see different people from all walks of life in NYC alone, the mega rich, the super pretty, and the really crazy.

I've seen a guy openly pee in the subway and nobody bats an eyelid.
I was quite, quite mortified at first but I tried to look cool else people would LOOK at me instead.

Now, I dun sweat the small stuff in subways, or anywhere for that matter anymore.
Hehe.

After a day of shopping at Macy's at 34st, I met up with my favourite friends in New York.

I'm pretty sure u've seen their pictures before if u follow my blog.
I love them to bits coz they will never hesitant to show me a good time in NY.
And we all have something in common.. we dig fabulous food n having lotsa drinks!
:D

Day 1

Carmine's at Broadway.

And oh.. that includes Hooka-ing too!

It was a mini united nation gathering, with such diverse races and it was a fantastic night.

I learned so much from how people lived in their countries and what they are doing now, how different our paths are, - but then I realise no matter where we all came from.. we are pretty much the same since we are in such an amazing, amazing place called New York.

I miss them already n I cant wait to be back.

Day 3

Still jet-lagged and bleary eyed, I made my way to Times square with my lovely colleague.

He's such a great guy, I had so much fun learning new things and laughing like a mad woman along the streets of 5th Ave.

Its amazing how u can meet some people who are such wonderful angels simply dropping by like a butterfly on a flower.
I am humbled by his stories, and enthralled by his experiences.

I wish him happiness becoz I know he truly deserves it.

Then it was time to go back home sweet home.

SHANGRI-LA ROSE VERANDA HI-TEA

Once I came back it was an immediate meet up with my sweet sisters (not real, of coz.) who are mummies now and I love cutie pie Yue En!

She's the youngest baby in the group at 9 months.
And she was absolutely a dream to bring out.. she didnt make any noise and she finished all the food her mummy fed her with.

But best of all, she's totally unafraid of strangers and we had such a good time playing with her while mummy ate cakes.
LOL.

Not her mummy ah.

Playing with little Yue-En.

The Sisters I never had.
:)

Mummies patting baby to sleep.
P.S I just carry on eating coz I only know how to play with baby.

What I was eating.

It was such a wonderful 'family' outing!
From bottom left up: Sister Selena, Sister Sharlene and Papa Leslie.

After the hearty hi-tea session, I met my BFFs for dinner!
We ordered so much I had to ta bao the pizza back for the ever-hungry Jungle Boy.

But then I told him I 'bought' supper for him which technically isnt wrong coz I paid for it, no?
Jungle Boy took one look and said, " Wah lau u girls cannot finish then bring back ask me eat rite!"

(-.-)

To which I simply retorted, "Wan to eat anot?"
"Want...." *grumble grumble incomprehensibly*, came the quick reply.

Hahahaaaa.. I am a bad girlfriend I know.
:P

Take care all, am so sleepy now.
Woke up so early to go work.. tomorrow another day of work.

God bless.

Looking Good without Spending Much

As u can see, Im super duper into accessories at the moment.
They jazz up any old outfit that I already have and take attention away from my boring clothes.

To be frank, I contemplated getting some high-end Chanel ones like many of my friends but that more I look at them - the more I dun find them so nice, actually.
:(

And in hard times like these, I really cannot bear to spend so much on a single item, and they arent even genuine pearls or gold.
(They cost $450 for a pair of earrings, and range from $300-$800 for a single necklace.. Oouch!)

Accessories are spur of the moment items, something u can throw on at any whim or fancy, depending on what u are wearing.
Therefore, I go for cheaper ones, ones that are unique and would help express one's identity.

But if u already have some Chanel ones, U could mix high and low-end items, coz I really do think its a fantastic look too.

But back to cheap ones, now.
U can get really reasonable priced ones from Forever21, Diva and small shops from various shopping centres.
(They cost about $5-$50, depending on size and how intricate the pieces are.)

Not only that, they are so much cheaper than buying a new outfit and u can wear them almost everyday!
I love mixing and matching silver n gold necklaces with brown/gold bangles and a big ring on my forefinger.

I loveeee the '50-60s look, where hippies ruled the world and people made love, not war.
:p

The trick is to get those vintage looking ones, and if u get gold accessories - make sure they are quite worn-out and tarnished looking.

Weird I know, but the older they look, the more boho-chic it is.
Do remember to pair them with oversized sunnies and u are good to go!
:D

Some inspirational pictures of Rachel Zoe and Nicole Ritchie that I totally heart.

Dun they look absolutely stunning?

"Showing off is the fool's idea of glory."
-Bruce Lee

And u dun have to spend alot to look good.

Now I have much joy in buying cheaper alternatives and using natural products in my skincare.

Peace Out, everyone.

Going to have dinner with close friends tomorrow night.
Cant wait!

OMG Im finally back after a week without chicken rice, char kway teow & carrot cake.

Astonishingly, I concur lost some weight there due to the fact that I got so sick of the greasy American food in New York and that I had to totally survived on salad & diet coke.
Their portions are so sickeningly large that I would take a grand total of 3 mouthfuls and feel quite ill.

But never mind, I'll put all the weight back on and more now coz since Im back - I'll usually gorge on homecooked food and force Jungle Boy to raid hawker centres with me.

I lurveeee the food at kallang airport hawker centre.
We go there with the family every week and I am still finding a thousand and one different delicious food there.

So what if its smelly & hot?

I personally know of about 5 girls who told me that they would never step into a hawker centre.
Weird.. man...
:/

Coz kway chup will never taste the same with top grade porcelain bowls, duncha think?
:p

Hehee but well, to each its own.
I like delicious food anywhere..the cheaper the better.

Having said that, but if u give me foie gras I will still eat arh!

Jungle Boy say I dun discriminate... coz I eat EVERYTHING.
Keke.

Okaaaay... must stop, coz I hungry like dunno what now talking abt food.
Gtg to dreamland, guys~

Then got energy to eat!
:D

Must have gone kuku already, sorry!

God bless.
Take care all, I hope u have a great start to the week ahead.

Back soon!
(After my tummy gets filled..)

Love.

I Love New York
Written at Thursday, May 14, 2009 | back to top

Helloooo everyone!

Im halfway across the world in New York City right now, and can u believe I wasted one whole day sleeping??

Yes.. I actually slept for about 28 hours straight, minus the hour I spent skype-ing Jungle Boy.
Unbelievable I know.

Thus I am now known as the Idiot who Slept in New York.
While everyone is shopping, sight-seeing, Liberty-watching.. yes.. I was sleeping.

And if that is not bad enough, its 430 AM now I cant sleep.
Like.. duh!

But this baby Im blogging on is such a mean piece of white cutie.. my mood is alittle better looking at it la.

Taaaa dah.. presenting my new Lenovo S10!

White.. its white to match my Nokia E71 mah.

Its small n cheap (for a laptop).. I likeee!
I paid $760 total, with extended warranty (3yrs) er, becoz I is totally chor lor.
(Anyone heard abt my DVD player story..?)

I contemplated on getting one like, since forever ok?
Am so afraid of playing with it for 5 mins and dumping it aside.. then Jungle Boy sure nag at me one.

But so far so good, its working fast, working fine and looks totally awesome.
I was looking at acouple other designs but this one's pretty light n basic so I got it.
Except that the laptop fan's kinda annoying and its like having someone breathe really loudly next to u and u cant do anything abt it.
:/

Jungle Boy spent one night downloading n updating stuff while I slept.
Ahhhh... bliss of having a boyfriend SOMETIMES.

The other times are spent irritating the hell outta me and laughing about it.
Yesterday, we skyped and he turned the webcam to face the TV and then he turned on SCV's Ch 55.
(-_-)"

Ok, got to go now!
I absolutely love watching old re-runs of sitcoms like I Love Lucy & The Golden Girls here in New York!

Reminds me of my childhood where I was glued to the TV every weekday afternoon watching american sitcoms.

No wonder my mother say I always never study.

Rem The Addams family anyone?

Take care, off to 5th Ave & Times Square for some shopping later I swear, else I'll just kill myself.
Need a good cuppa coffee but trust me, coffee in the States weirdly sucks.
I want my Ya Kun.
:(

God bless all!
:)

Snow and masks
Written at Friday, May 8, 2009 | back to top

Hellooooo everyone!
OMG.. TGIF isnt it? :D

Mothers' Day will be up in awhile, but Im still pretty undecided on what to get for our two beloved mummies.
I was thinking of getting some flowers along with the present too coz I have never known anybody who wouldnt smile when they receive some.

I myself love flowers, though I find it absolutely wasteful when they start to wither.
And then I get annoyed coz I have to throw them away when I totally cannot bear to do so - then I would wish I never got them so I wouldnt need to throw them.

Told ya Im a weird person.
:/

Back to my long overdue pictures of the lovely Zurich, Switzerland.

Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland and the capital of the canton of Zürich. The city is Switzerland's main commercial and cultural centre and sometimes called the Cultural Capital of Switzerland, the political capital of Switzerland being Berne.
Zürich can be counted as one of the world's pre-eminent global cities.
According to several surveys from 2006 to 2008, Zürich was named the city with the best quality of life in the world as well as the wealthiest city in Europe.
The Zurich's metropolitan area has a population of about 1,68 million people.

We booked a day tour and went to the city to take the coach.
It cost us CHF 147 each, roughly S$195 per person.

The tour guide was a nice elderly lady who spoke English and German.
She used to fly as a purser for Swiss Air for 32 yrs until she retired.
But she said she missed meeting people and if given a chance to fly again, she would!
What a feisty woman with such a zeal for life.
:)

The official language used by the government and in most publications is German, while the most commonly spoken dialect in Zürich is Zürich German which is a local dialect of Swiss German.
As of 2000, German is the mother-tongue of 77.7% of the population.
Italian follows behind at 4.7% of the population.
Other native languages spoken by more than 1% of the population include Spanish & French.

Mount Titlis

pic credit to wiki

The Titlis (3,238 m) is a mountain in the Urner Alps of Switzerland.
It is located on the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Berne in Switzerland, overlooking Engelber and is famous as the site of the world's first revolving cable car.

The last part of cable car way leads above the glacier.
In Titlis, it is possible to visit a glacier cave.

Glacier

We had decided to go to the Swiss Alps where it is so cold that snow is guaranteed at anytime of the year.
And becoz we were extremely lucky that day becoz it was raining in Zurich, thus the Alps where snowing!
It was my colleague's first time seeing snow and boy, was she excited.
Her enthusiasm rubbed off us and in no time we were throwing snowballs & making snow angels in the crystal white snow.

It was absolutely one of my best trips this year.
:)

After the Alps, we even spent some time in the beautiful town of Lucerne where we took so many magnificient pictures they really deserve a post on its own.

Will be back soon after my trip to New York next week.
Love love, sweets.

God bless.

Here's a really quick and simple nourishing face mask that costs under a dollar and brightens ur face almost immediately.

YOGURT & HONEY FACE MASK

Ingredients:

One tablespoon of Regular Plain Yogurt (Not the non-fat version.)
One teaspoon of Honey (I use Manuka Honey)

A mixing bowl
A spatula or brush.

To do:

Add both yogurt & honey together in the bowl.
Apply to clean face.

Tip:
I take a small towel, wrap it around my neck as a scarf to prevent dripping.
One of the best things about natural ingredients is... U may even lick it if it drips!

Leave it on for 5-10 mins and wash off with warm water.
Spray some rosewater/ SKII on face and moisturise as per normal.

I love how soft & bouncy my skin feels right after the treatment.
Yogurt has natural properties that help reduce oiliness and refine pores, while honey is antibactiral, while smoothing & brigtening skin.

Some people swear by adding afew drops of lemon juice into the mixture as citric acid lightens skin tone.
But if u have sensitive dry skin, I wouldnt recommend u to do so.

Tip:
To prevent further dripping, simply apply one layer of Yogurt mask on face and lightly place three cotton pads around jaw area.

Apply another layer on forehead, nose and cheeks.
(Avoid eyes)

The cotton pads will absorb any excess mask so u could go around doing just about anything.

Ok, have to go now!
Take care all and I hope u have fun with the Yogurt Mask.
And even if u end up not liking it, simply eat watever u are left with and it doesnt cost much at all!

But I've tried it, and it does work.
:)

Am mixing some other masks & trying a dark eye brightening natural treatments.
I love testing new products esp when they are absolutely only natural food items and cost nearly nothing.
But most of all, I advocate a lifestyle filled with family, friends and most of all- lotsa laughter & love.
:D

Will post my old time favourite Aspirin Mask next.
Love all!

(Who really eats, sleeps & look like one!)

Have a great weekend ahead all!

p.p.s

Talking about pigs, I hated it when the news went on calling the H1N1 swine flu and showing pictures of the poor piggies.

Coz whenever it was on tv, Jungle Boy would suddenly shout "Hey darling.. what are u doing there?!!"

-_-

Like, so not funny okieeeeee.
Benten loves

Before I post about my snow trip, I shall just update a teeny weeny information...
.
.
.
MY BFF MIKO JUST GOT ENGAGED!!!!!

*jumps up & down wildly*

Big loves.
We were so estatic abt the news I think we started shooting sms-es to each other in the middle of the night.
Only my bff can be so zen.. while we race to find out the details.

So exciting can?
I mean.. not that I have any experience to talk about, - but being proposed to.. isnt it simply the most awesome feeling in the whole world??

Eh... no way a "U wan apply HDB?" kinda proposal here is accepted ok.

I mean, the man took an effort to make a video for my BFF n I do applaud him for that.
He might not have done the drama-mama jump off Suntec City kind of stunt, but it was his sincerity & warmth that touched us girls.

:)

I wish them all the happiness in the world and I hope they'll be as loving as loving can be.

God bless them.

***

3rd May 09

It was an afternoon of shopping & dining with my other BFF, Hua.
We took a walk along the clustered shops of Bugis Village, then to the spanking new place in town, Illuma.

They were such a contrast - like black & white.
The Village was a thousand and one shops next to each other within breathing space and there were so many people there I was literally shoulder to shoulder with everyone else.

Then it was the big blank spaces at the mall where there were more empty shops then the people idly around the huge area.
Maybe Tampines 1 could use all the space from Illuma.

But at least we found a rather decent Benten on the ground floor to have a nice, inexpensive meal.

I particulary liked their beef hamburg with cheese, and service was excellent from their manager, though the trainee waitress was alittle abrupt in clearing our table.
Usually u clear dishes but if someone's not done with their drink.. u would have left it alone, no?

But Hua's macha frappe (or something fancy-named) was gone before u could say.. David Copperfield.

*Poof!*

All dishes & drinks gone and we were just sitting on an empty dirty table waiting for the bill.
:(

Luckily never take my iced water, else I ke-chang her.

But all in all, it was a rather pleasant experience and everyone was pretty polite.

Yup! Im back from playing snow in the mountains of Switzerland, Zurich and my toes froze so badly they went numb while we threw snowballs at each other in the middle of the mountain.

I'll be back soon, so tired and have lotsa things to do as yet.
My suitcase is still left unopened, but Im joining Jungle Boy and some church friends for a BBQ later - betcha I'll be as glazed as the chicken wings on the pit.

Its my two babies birthday tomorrow, BFF's Miko 18th birthday (heehe.) and Im planning some cake cutting though another BFF's high with fever.

I hope the sick one get well soon, and the birthday one stay young forever.
I love u both to bits, and we are FOUR, not three, not two and definately not one.
:p

Then its the real baby's 2nd birthday party tomorrow noon and I think I better get some Barney's or anything purple soon.

Bye loves, off to do a million things.
