Alittle Bit of Everything
Written at | back to top

This is a mish mash post becoz there are so many pictures Im not even half done consolidating everything!
And then next week its going to be a flurry of activities where I'll be heading for BFF's ROM then flying off to my secret holiday destination on the very same day!

Its a secret Im keeping becoz its the first time Im heading there so Im very, very excited!!!I love exploring new places, seeing new people, eating their food and looking at how the locals live.

But its going to be a short stay becoz Jungle Boy could hardly pull himself away from work.
Nevertheless, I am very very happy to be able to spend some time with him.
Away from everything and everyone.
Just the two of us.
:)

First up..!
Pics from like 2 weeks ago.
When the BFFs met up for New York, New York.

And then I went to work.

My evil BFF calls my lashes 'drag queen' lashes.
Hmpffff.

Stayed two nights in HongKong on the way back.
I was so excited becoz I got to finally meet up with my dearest schoolmates from so long ago!
We had a great night eating at the roadside stall (totally L.O.V.E!) and then adjourning for dessert, ala HongKong style.

Hi Flo!
R u seeing this?
*grin*

I miss them already!
When will I see them again, I wonder.
:(

I love eating dim sum in HongKong!
It is somewhere I can go around freely and shop til my legs break.
I remember going there for holiday with BFF this year and HongKong made me think of her.

Sometimes I dream of going away.
I dream of setting up a new life away from here and doing things that I would never imagine.
Hows setting up a stall in the flea market and selling little trinkets to absolute strangers?
Or having a small bakery selling pies to customers in the cold winter?

I dreamt of it all.
So I absolutely admire people who will walk away and leave home to pursuit their dreams.
How do u leave the people u love behind?
How do u sleep alone knowing that ur family is a far, far plane ride away?

I think I cant.
:(

But it doesnt mean I cant dream.

"“Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed. Maybe they just need to run free til they find someone just as wild to run with them."
-Sex and the City.

Back soon with an exciting new post on a blogshop!
Stay tuned.

Keep on dreaming, too.
*wink*

EDITED TO ADD:

Hi guys!
Here's a short skin ritual (for body) that I've been keeping.

Becoz I have very dry skin, moisturisers are usually not enough to keep my skin supple especially when Im almost in air-con areas 24/7.
So every night before I go to bed, I use olive oil after my shower before smothering myself in moisturiser.

I like Ginvera Green Tea series becoz they smell great.
U can get it from any pharmacy, supermarket or Watson stores.
They cost alittle less than 6 bucks for 150ml.

I emphasize on my knees, elbows and the heels of my feet.
To which I would wear socks before I go to sleep.

I know it sounds extremely weird, but trust me its extremely effective to combat dryness.
Try it tonight!
:)

You need:

-Olive Oil
-Moisturiser
-A Pair of Socks

This method also keeps ur nail cuticles healthy and supple.
Have fun!

Tip: Apply to lips for smooth kissable lips in the morning!

Ok bye bye.

Helloooooooo everyone!
Ok I am ashamed,- I have sooooo many backlogged pictures its alittle disconcerting.

Imagine Im trying to post pictures from New York like, from a month ago when I went there for work.
Its scary becoz I remember cutting my fringe then before I went away and then today I went to cut my fringe again.

Time flies so fast its getting scary!

Its weird how you would wish for time to quickly pass when u're at work (like, duh.) and then you wish for time to slow down when u are having fun.
:p

Life is contradicting, eh?

While I do like being young, its funny how at the same time I want to go into the future and play with my children while skipping childbirth.
But then I think I have to put up with looking 20 pounds (and thats being kind) heavier and 20 years older.

I look at all my mummy friends and I salute them.

I cannot imagine taking care of Jungle Boy Junior.
Like, I have one at home now and I can go crazy sometimes.

Case to point:
Just now during dinner, he tell me he very full already and now he comes home only to order Macdonald.
:/

Ok, wanna see New York?
:D

DEAN AND DELUCA!

Love the fresh flowers sold there.
I could stare the whole day.

Dean & DeLuca is a chain of upscale grocery stores.
The first one was established in New York City's SoHo district by Joel Dean and Giorgio DeLuca in September 1977.
A new Dean & DeLuca opened in 1988. Smaller retail outlets followed in Manhattan’s Rockefeller Plaza and in the Paramount Hotel. Espresso Bars are also located around New York and in Washington, D.C. Dean & DeLuca also has stores in Charlotte, Kansas City, Napa Valley, Tokyo, Dubai, and Taipei. A new West Coast flagship store is due to open at the Fashion Island shopping mall in Newport Beach during the fall of 2009. The major retail locations offer catering services within their local area. Dean & DeLuca's newest branch opened at The Avenues, Kuwait's largest and most upscale mall, in January 2009.

Not forgetting my favourite cupcakes from Magnolia bakery!
Look at the crowd.
And it was already about 9pm!

Magnolia Bakery is a bakery opened in 1996 at 401 Bleecker Street, on the corner of West 11th Street in the West Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The bakery is known for its famous dessert treats, including its cupcakes and old-fashioned Depression era icebox cakes. It stays open unusually late for a bakery, and typically there is a line to get in as late as 11:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Magnolia limits cupcake purchases to 12 per customer because of their popularity.
The exterior of the bakery downtown, as well as its cupcakes, were featured in Lazy Sunday, a Saturday Night Live digital short broadcast in December 2005. The bakery was also featured on Sex and the City, in the film Prime, in which one of the characters throws Magnolia pies at his ex-girlfriends, and in The Devil Wears Prada, in which the character Andy says at one point that she needs to get to the bakery to pick something up for her boyfriend.

I bought two.
Absolute sweetness.

Then I ate..
And ate in New York!

Loving every bit of it.
(Sometimes... coz I get alittle homesick.)

Then I shopped alittle..
But ate again!!!

Im blessed to be surrounded by lovely, lovely people and their positive energy makes my day.
We talked alot and laughed so much, - it was all great fun.

It doesnt really matter how long or short people know each other, but mutual trust and a sense of understanding and appreciation always works in sustaining friendships.

Have u wondered why u warm up to some people instantly becoz of their genuine sincerity, yet there are certain people u will never touch with a pole?

Im glad I've found such a stellar group of friends and like a star, - they are always there for me to look up to.
:)

On another note, am so busy watching Cruel Temptations the Ch U Korean melodrama now!
Omg its alittle draggy, typically the kind that makes u all frustrated yet totally unable to pull away from the television.

Okies, got to go watch telly now!
Yes.. Im such a TV addict I know, hee.

p.s anyone loving the Goldheart Jewellery advertisement song??
Omg its so catchy, its going round in circles in my head.

p.p.s
Off to meet my BFFs tmr for a round of much needed girly meetup before my other BFF officially become a MRS!

And also...my best friend aka BFF Wen is pregnant..!
(She's going to kill me!)

WE ARE ALL GOING TO BE GODMAs VERY SOOOOOOON U NOE?

Just imagine.. a small BFF baby is coming.
He's so blessed becoz all of us will love him very much, Im sure.
Esp his daddy and mummy.
*I wanna cry*

I'll love him just like mine becoz I love my BFF bery much too.
:)

And then to think right after BFF's I-Dos, Jungle Boy and me are jetting off almost immediately to a secret location!
Just to spend some time together on my birthday.
:D

Its gonna be an AMAZING week!
I hope its the same for u.
God bless all.

Love.

Written at Thursday, November 19, 2009 | back to top

Hokies.. so my dirty smelly jacket is back with me and its amazing how happy I am right now.
Its weird how people only treasure something they 'thought' they've lost.
And I hate losing things.

Im pretty much an OCD kinda girl so I usually need to know where everything is, and if they are in order - so on and so forth.
Esp when this particular item brings back lovely memories of the boyfriend and I.

So even thought my jacket is dirty, smellieeee and old.. I still like it very much!

Off to eat my favourite Thai take-out and still missing Jungle Boy heaps.
Take care y'all.
Love love.

God bless.
Have fun thru the week!

p.s
Oh ya!
Yesterday someone in the mall gave me a brand new umbrella just becoz its raining outside and in his words, "U dun deserve to get wet." then he winked and said bye.
So cute these Americans.
:D

So sad!
Written at Wednesday, November 18, 2009 | back to top

Im so upset!!!
:'(

I left my jacket in the dressing room of Forever 21 and before I knew it, -it was gone.
Boo hoo.

Jungle Boy tells me not to cry becoz he's planning a short trip for my birthday but.. I AM SAD!
I love that jacket so much and its the one that I wore when we went Melbourne together eons ago.
Now its gone and I miss it already.

Sob.

EDITED TO ADD:

U'll probably not believe this, but amazingly after I moped around like a lovesick puppy for about 2 hours I got an astonishing call from the shop telling me that they found my jacket "on the floor or something" right about closing time and that I could go pick up my old smelly jacket anytime tomorrow morning once they open at abt 10am.

God is great.
He really is.
:D

p.s
Just when I went to buy another jacket almost right away coz its winter now...
So now I have TWO jackets.

But my new one is L.O.V.E.
Its a decision made in heaven I guess!

Though Jungle Boy would beg to differ... (even though he's not the one paying, I often wonder why he's so anal about the things I buy!)
:p

Just kidding.

He promised to bring me somewhere cold so I can wear my new jacket when the company does well next year!
But p.p.s that was PRE-JACKET-FOUND, so maybe now that my mood's back to normal - the promise doesnt stand anymore.

Should have gotten it in writing, damn!
Sms counted, bo?
Weekends are great
Written at Sunday, November 15, 2009 | back to top

Hi guys!
Its the weekend again and I betcha that everyone (like, me..ahem) is in high spirits!
I absolutely loveeee lazing around the house.. and watching telly drinking tea!
:D

Yesterday I had a fan-ta-bulous time spending the day with my better half.
We walked hand in hand, gazed at window displays and had a small intimate dinner looking at the sea.
The night ended sweet, -literally with a durian cake and ice-cream on a brownie.
:)

Then we got home and the boy was hungry again so I had to cook instant noodles with eggs and meatballs from the fridge.
And while he risked food poisoning eating supper made from his undomesticated girlfriend, Jungle Boy polished off every single bit becoz he knew it was made sincerely from the heart.

Yes... MSG or no MSG.

My Saturday was fun.
How was yours?
:D

Today I have to work already!
Will be back soon, I hope.
Then I need to take some time to reply all the tags.
Thank you for being patient with me, Love y'all.

God bless.

Rompin, Fishing and me.
Written at Tuesday, November 3, 2009 | back to top

Hi guys!
Hey hey.. how was ur weekend?
:)

OMG I couldnt believe how little I slept and then it was back to work work and more work.
Im sorry for not replying tags as much as I would like.. coz I had barely enuff winks for now.

Yesterday Jungle Boy, me and his lao ah-pek friend drove up to Rompin, Malaysia for a day becoz he wanted to go fishing!
And yes.. my boyfriend decided to act smart and eat snake.
Talk about beating the Monday blues, huh!

But dun tell people hor.. coz no one in the office knew what he was up to.
:p

We slept napped for 1 and a half hours before setting off at bloody 3am to drive pass the causeway.
And into this kampong area.. ROMPIN, MALAYSIA!

Eh, but do u know that Rompin is actually very famous for its fishing spot?
Jungle Boy has been there a million times, but this is the first for me.

I had never wanted to put myself in a place where there were practically zilch women and everyone knew what a tackle hook is.
But alas.. for love I went.

The love of eating fresh fishes, I mean!
Heehe.

And oh.. eating fresh kampong chicken eggs, no kidding.

Luckily Im quite a tomboy at heart.. coz if the food hygiene people came I dunno how they going to rate chickens roaming around food preparation places.

Or bugs on the chairs and no one blinks an eye.
Or bottles on the floor, but there are not rubbish - mind u, they have mosquito coils attached to them becoz obviously flies and mosquitoes have quite a free range here.

Smokers would have a field day here also becoz not only can u smoke ANYWHERE u like, u can throw ur ash and cigarette butt anyhow too.
The only reason that will stop u from throwing it on the floor is becoz later the kampong chicken will think its food and try to eat it, laa.
But not that I saw the people there care, haha.

All these and Jungle Boy tells me its one of the cleanest places for fishing.
Really.

But anyhows.. we ate breakfast and started our fishing journey at 8am sharp!

Love the sea.

I would always look at the great big ocean and wonder how is it like to live in the waters.

It reminds me of the times when I was young and would watch The Little Mermaid and be fascinated about living in the sea.
Maybe thats the reason why I love swimming so much.. I would secretly wish to be a mermaid and swim all day long with my friends, - fishes and sharks and lobsters and sotongs.

That is why I find it pretty ironic that Ariel would give up everything to have legs and be a human being when all I wanna do is to be in the waters.
Guess the grass is always greener on the other side, yes?
:)

p.s
Wanna know how I look like without an inch of makeup?
Alittle ghost-like, but Jungle Boy likes it when I dun apply all the UIC paint on my face.
Of coz if I could walk around without makeup I would - but its not Halloween everyday u noe!

Hehee.
Dun say I never say.
(If the sight of me makeupless scares u then u better not scroll down anymore.)

They made me hold the rod and it scared the shit outta me!

But it was GREAT FUN!!!
The sailfish was extremely strong and it fought for ages..
I just hold for awhile and my arms were aching already.

And for sailfishes like the one in the pic, we fish them and throw them back into the water.
Yes.. u heard me right.

Jungle Boy and his friends will drive up for hours, book a small boat, get all smelly and dirty just to fight fish, catch them and throw them back into the water.
*sweat*

But we keep fishes like grouper and sotongs.

Anyways on my own.. I caught a sotong!!
Happy.

Jungle Boy made me pose for the camera!
But I was very scared!!!
Cannot tell right?

We proceeded to do this all day long.

Fish, catch and throw back.
Repeat for at least 10 times.

But we caught small fishes and brought it back to Singapore.
We also had like 8 sotongs?
So now I everyday got sotong to eat.

Okies.. got to go down and eat my sotong now for dinner!
Jungle Mummy cook~
Yummy.. then later going to eat ice-cream with Jungle Boy becoz he owes me one.

He said I would get seasick but I didnt!!!
Im a tough lil' cookie.
:)

Bye girls.. Love all.
God bless.

xoxo
