Minnie Mouse Nails with Milly's

Friday, March 15, 2013

Hi everyone!
Its been a hectic week for me, trying to clear some posts before I head off to Rompin for fishing this weekend. In fact, Im doing this at the hair salon (I started this post on Wednesday ~) ~ Thank God for free wifi here! *loves* Anyways - I was at Disneyland recently and I fell in love with Minnie Mouse all over again... Sigh. Do you remember the days before Sanrio aka Hello Kitty came over to dominate the world? Yes.. my life evolved around Disney cartoon characters then .. and I could spend every weekend watching and watching cartoons in my pyjamas. It was good old days alright. Where did it all went?
And so I digress.
Now back to my old nails. It was black, leopard print and peeling ... so I needed a NAIL FIX! Now..!
My lovely companion for the day! She's pink, small and always listens to me ~ keke..
I headed down to Milly's - Bugis branch to get my nails done.
They are having a $20 Gelish manicure (one colour) promotion and its a pretty good deal for those who want simple, yet fuss free nails that last up to a month.

And Im ready to get started!
Prior to Gelish nails, I usually do hard Gel extensions but its quite time-consuming and weakens my already soft nails further. However its a great way to have long nails especially if you are prone to breaking your nails. However, I very much prefer Gelish nails now! Application + removal is an easy breezy 2 half hours tops. And mine includes nail art and diamonds!
Time passes in a jiffy coz I always end up chit chatting to my manicurist like mad lol
A standard nail procedure - pushing back cuticles gently. U can choose to omit this step if you have rather 'clean' cuticles. I dun ~ haha!
My bare naked nails!
This time round, I chose a classic short square shape :)
Lets not forget about my (ugly) feet! Hahaha... Halfway done~
Been ages since I had red polish on .. (I added white polka dots on them later on!)
I had a mixture of black, red and white on my fingertips
And thats just the base colors
My manicurist Corine carefully handpainting nail art on my fingers
Get ready!
Oh hi Minnie, are you bored?
I had a specific design that I took from the friendly web (My design credits to : Fingerpainted Blog) and I encourage everyone to do some homework before you head to the salon. Its so much easier to explain what you want to the nail technician and then do adjustments from there and tweak the design as you go along. Saves time and effort trying to describe designs!
Polka dotssss
Very very intricate, eh..!
All Gelish polish has to be 'cured' under the UV light machine and it usually takes a couple of minutes
And the process repeats - Draw, cure, draw, cure
Corine adding on a 3D acrylic Minnie Mouse on my finger
I specifically wanted a cute small red bow on it! Can u see how she is doing the ribbon with a brush .. impressive!
Finally .... (Cant wait to see my final design!)

I love, love, LOVE my Minnie Mouse nails!
Its a cute reminder of all the fun and laughter my Lesbo and I had in Disneyland ~ no wonder they call it the happiest place on earth!
Its Thursday today and I'll be in Malaysia tomorrow but I have scheduled posts so do come back soon!
I might take some time to reply tags coz I dun have much connection there but rest assured that I'll do it asap :) Hope you have a great weekend ahead and take care!
xoxo
