[Fashion + Shopping + Reveal Pictures] Hello guys! Today's post will be all about SNEAKERS.
Yes ... shoes..  heels.. wedges.. flats.. sneakers.. are all my favorite things. I believe in wearing a good pair of shoes, afterall .. Cinderella had her life changed over a pair of shoes, didn't she? Heehee. Although I love a pair of fabulous heels, I'm usually in my slippers as its the most comfortable and perfect for our hot weather in Singapore, despite rain or shine. But there are occasions when I cannot wear slippers, especially to restaurants or nice places. As I was planning a trip to Beijing recently with the family, I wanted a pair of shoes that could take me everywhere!
Yet what can I do if I dun wanna sacrifice fashion over comfort?
Enter the Isabel Marant Sneakers
I loved them so much .. I'm actually dedicating a post to them!
I have a few pairs of sneakers/trainers no doubt .. but a pair of Nikes sneakers are not exactly top of my list in looking trendy! Then I remembered these ......
The hidden wedge sneaker trend that took 2012 by storm.
Yes its yesteryear, and there are so many imitations now out in the market - but I've always lusted for one.... although I really couldn't justify the price tag in the past!
I wanted to get a pair for my trip but before I plonk down such an obscene (Personally I still think its waaay overpriced) amount of money, I wanted to do a bit of homework on the designer and her shoes. And horrors of horrors, boy, was it HARD!
Firstly, her website is mostly on her clothing collection and with no mention of shoes really. I had to scour websites and forums to know more about her sneakers and I've complied a small pictorial of some of them for your reference. Interestingly, her shoes often start with the letter "B" - and they look similar so I was quite, quite confused in the beginning.

Are you still with me???
And as I got lost in the wild wild world of wedge sneakers and its 'each-shoe-looks-like-bloody-25kg' look, I did something dangerous and promptly went online shopping.
My trusty good ol' faithful http://www.net-a-porter.com, with its 24 hour express delivery had me press the 'BUY THIS' button quicker than you can say sneaker.
Taaaa-daaah!
This is my first pair of Marants and I relish the clean chic label.
Opening up the box sent chills down my spine!
And there, in all her etoupe gray beige charm- My Beketts
Unfortunately I had stupidly mistaken my regular Italian sizing 37 as the French 37 , which is fact is a size smaller.
Im usually a Italian size 36-37 for my Louboutins, so in France sizes - I should be a 38.  Actually Im most comfortable in between sizing (eg Italian 36.5) but Isabel Marant does not come in half sizes so please go UP to the next nearest size. I've added a shoe conversion chart below for your reference.
I tried it on and yes .. sadly it was too tight.
If there's anything more uncomfortable than tight shoes.. its tight shoes and SOCKS.
Even if it was free, I couldnt keep it! It'll be too insensible to keep it.
With a heavy heart, I had to return it and pay taxes (Darn you, Net-a-porter!) But within a week ... I heard the doorbell.
Ding-dong!
Which familiar white box do I see at my door!
Although this came with a slight bump at the corner...
Finally I had a pair in my size *somersaults*
Once again!
What an incredible beauty!
Like most of my online purchases, I would check the item thoroughly.
The linings, the soles and the brand has be to clearly marked and labeled with no scratches or defects.
I would prefer a solid colour, but these are Netaporter exclusives and limited editions.
Besides, to get one in my size is thankful enough!
Trying them on with whatever I was wearing that day.
I love the smell of new shoes!
They look heavy but they're really not after I got used to them! In fact, I loved how comfy they are and how easy they matched my clothes almost effortlessly.
Pictures from my Instagram @Sugar73 while I was in Beijing!
The only problem I have now is that I LUST more more!
Oh my. I really ought to stop buying shoes.
Thanks for dropping by everyone!
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all and have a great weekend!

  6. Nice shoes! Love the wedge sneakers trend. Kinda sporty yet can be dressy as well. Definitely a highlight of fashion in 2013. Any thoughts if it will continue into 2014? I recently wrote a blogpost about the wedge sneakers trend in 2013. Would be great if you can comment on it :D http://dressi.ly/2013-fashion-review/
