Last week I met up with my secondary school friends Mandy and Lover!

Mandy's in town for CNY so we decided to go have a girly day out - shopping and eating! :)

We ordered so much food ~

Infact I was in the same class as Mandy all the way from Sec. 1 to Sec 4!

Now she's back to her native Hongkong so we only get to catch up when she is back or when I go over.

And then we did the predictable.

We went SHOPPING!

When we got tired .. its COFFEE TIME!

I think I over-bought ... going out with my girlfriends!!!!

Wow.. time flies leh! Was so busy preparing for CNY - packing ang pows, spring-cleaning, choosing clothes to wear, places to go and NOW ITS OVER???

No more long weekend???

Booked this appointment way in advance coz the salon was so crazily busy!

SKII babe: Noooo I dun dilute it! I put some in my spray bottle and spritz on face. That time I did it coz I was travelling for work and it was very cumbersome to bring the original bottle everywhere. But now I dun travel as much so I use the bottle by itself. Put some on cotton pad after toner and dab on face. Apply moisturiser after. :)
_lyne: YES! I use Greek Yogurt thou. I love the taste of plain yogurt and Greek is one of the healthiest choices around. Add some granola on the top and some fruits. Its very very nice! I eat it everyday. :p

Been working out 3-4x a week and food plays a huge part in having a well-rounded lifestyle. So yesterday we went to the supermarket to stock up on my favourite food. Plain yogurt, organic honey granola and muesli bars.

Explosive A*Mei Concert

Hello everyone!

Today Im staying in to post and when Im done - Im going to start SPRINGCLEANING my room!

I did my bathroom already so now Im moving over to start on the cabinets.

My mantra is ... if I haven touched/used/remembered it in the whole year , into the bin it GOES!

But first ... last week we all trooped down to the indoor stadium for A*Mei!!!

Were u there too?? :)

Jungle Boy and I had a quick dinner at the nearby LeisurePark and it was crowded with concert-goers!!!

Luckily we reserved seats much earlier or we might be late for the concert.

Very excited to see A*mei!!!

Love her songs sooo much ~

I remember being in secondary school and we would have her 'concert' in ktvs...brings back so many good memories!

Yay! A*Mei Im coming ~~~!!!

Oooooh my hasima dessert first - sooth the throat before I go there and scream my lungs out LOL.

(Everyone just remained seated ... can u imagine?????)

Best part of the concert - Her 40 min romantic song medley becoz it was all of our (and everyone's too) favourite songs!!!!!!!

We LOVE her songs!!!!!

Really!!!! We all laughed like mad after that becoz Lover said she can feel A*Mei hands "sticky sticky wet wet de~" waahhahahha!

Jungle Boy refused to go infront so he took all these pics... hahaha~

On another hand, have you ordered your new year goodies yet?

My family and I are having some homemade kueh lapis this year!

Its homemade and not as sweet or oily as the ones in bakeries so we love it!

Gave some to relatives and friends and it was very well-received.

Comes clingwrapped for freshness and hygienic purposes.

Been eaten as soon as possible - Or, you can cut it into smaller portions separately and refrigerate the rest!

Take out only what you will eat so that the kueh lapis is as fresh as possible. :)

Able to last about 2 weeks but trust me, ours was gone in acouple of days!!!

Mine's with Prunes (as shown in pics) but there is the Original (Without prune) flavour too.

SP: I do yoga 3-4 times a week and i try to run when I can although only 1-2x a month which is not enough.

But the yoga that I do is Bikram Yoga in a heated room so thats really plenty of exercise!! But if u wan to lose weight faster, then u should do Yoga and cardio and weights if possible for a more all-rounded workout :)

Baking Lessons

Its Jungle Boy's birthday today and he is turning grand old 38!

Hahaha soooo old can! Im not getting any younger and this year I hit the BIG 3-0 too!

So yes! Im gonna unbashfully (no such word but ...!) say that I decided to stay around 25 years old, no more no less.

Yoga was great today - I really oughta work out after all the great food over the long weekend!

Lunch was amazing yesterday at TGIF's and we had such love from close friends who threw an impromptu birthday lunch for the hubs.

Thank you for organizing it dear all , we had such a good time!

Amanda's Year End Wedding Celebration

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

As we usher in the lovely new year - here's a quick update on my secondary classmate Amanda's wonderful wedding on 30th Dec 2011!

Here's my bestest mostest irritatingest buddy with me at the venue.

I really like it alot coz I drink wine from time to time!!! :)

My another classmate Liqin who is a lovely (and slim!) expecting mum-to-be!

She came for my wedding too and now she is preggy!

We are soooo happy for her! :D

It suits her so well coz she is pretty tall and slender so this cutting is extremely flattering on her. :)

On a serious note, it was extremely shocking to to see some guests misbehave and disgracing themselves no matter how well they were dressed that night.

To be guests of a wedding - I dun think there should be any excuse for demanding not to be seated with fellow guests who happen to be parents with children just simply because the FOUR of you ladies deem it to be 'squeezy'.

And by refusing to take a seat elsewhere separately and to arrogantly request the jie-meis to put all of you together when infact the whole parody was created by you troublemakers yourselves.

We were all in disbelief, shame on you.

But kudos to the ever-quick thinking jiemeis and schoolmates of mine who averted a disaster by quietly exchanging their own seats to prevent a drama.
The bride is most fortunate to have you girls as true friends.
:)

And once again, every bride will say the same thing - it is only after a wedding where you can see who your true friends are.
Im thankful I have a group of closest and dearest friends throughout my own wedding, too.

Dearest Amanda and Jon, I wish you both happiness and bliss in your newly joined life together as one.

May the Almighty God bestow all His love to the both of you forever!

Jungle Daddy Birthday at Swa Tow Restaurant 13th Dec

Earlier in the month we had a small lunch celebration with the family and the company at Toa Payoh most famous restaurant - Swa Tow.

Do not belittle this humble place - they are so famous for their dim sum buffet lunch that snakes of people queue up everyday!!! Yes! Even on a rainy weekday afternoon there are so many people with elderly and children waiting patiently for a table! Amazing !!!!

The theme was GOLD!

A Post Before Christmas

Hello everyone!

Its a rather crazy time this week - with Christmas shopping and last-minute wrapping of presents and juggling parties, appointments and our very own small Christmas BBQ at home.

I hope the weather will be great thats all!

Im dreaming of another holiday but I guess that will only be next year! LOL.

So here's the rest of Day 2 in magical Bali.

We had dinner reservations in the Italian resturant at our resort after our fishing trip.

Being alittle early, we decided to go to the bar and watch sunset before heading to dinner.

Hello everyone!

How is ur Saturday coming along? I dun usually post on the weekends - but Christmas is coming and Im afraid that everyone (including me, hehe) will be busy shopping for presents or wrapping gifts!

I loveee the holidays! But what I dun love is the crazy christmas CROWD.

Yesterday I met my lovely girls for a small Xmas Gift Exchange in town but what I didnt know was that it coincided with Isetan Private Sale at Shaw!

The carpark was massively jammed and the night before, I heard on the news that MRT was down.

So I know its a terrible feeling to be stuck and going no-where!

(Psst. How can MRT break down for so long, one??)

Okiesss... back to our happy gift exchange!

We headed to Les Amis for set lunch.

I organised a small gathering becoz my friend Charmaine had given us Christmas presents (at my Kitty Bday party haha!) so we decided to buy each other gifts for Xmas anyways!

This is their Amuse Bouche - Smoked Salmon on Cracker.

It is a single, bite-sized hors d'ouvre that is usually complimentary.

It was delicious!

Their bread came nice and warm!

Cindee and I had a glass of wine while Char had a glass of still water coz she is a teetotaler.

We couldn't even wait for our lunch to end before opening the presents!

Its Monday again ... I usually go for yoga today but I have an appt with some of my favourite friends later on to discuss something for the readers here so Im pretty excited!

Hopefully everything will work out great!

Back to Bali Day 2!

Woke up bright and early for a light breakfast before we head our for FISHING!

I loveeee yogurt.
I can eat it everyday although my favourite is the natural, unflavoured ones.
Add some fruit, some muesli and its a great snack that keeps u full throughout the day.

What best way to bring out the feel of a hot summer day in this lovely bright number?

We booked the fishing trip from the hotel - so the tour guide cum fisherman came to pick us up from the lobby and drove us to the beach.
It was soooo nice! The weather was great and the sea was rather calm.

I go out sea-fishing with the hubs pretty often coz he's such an avid fisherman.
I think all he wants to do is to retire early and fish all day long.
Seriously.

And I also love dolphins and unicorns!!!
(Although I have never seen a unicorn in real life.. but I believe in them!!! Hahhaha!)

Abit scary but here are some fish that we caught.

We caught somemore (not shown in pics) but after acouple of hours we decided to head back to the hotel.

We kept around 4 fishes and gave the rest to the captain and crew to keep.

It was such a magical time in Bali for us.
Being away from the crowd and basically just spending some time talking rubbish and eating our catch from the sea. It was wonderful bonding time after all the huge, cosmopolitan cities that we have been going to recently.

Resorts are a great way to re-energize, re-new and go back to smelling fresh air and rolling in the sand.

Magical Bali

Good morning everyone!

Its a lovely Friday - bright and sunny today.

Although I do hope for some rain occasionally (respite from the heat), the sun never fails to perk me up!

Esp when the weekend is coming!

Yay! Dun we all love weekends?

Last weekend we went for a short break to Bali!

Im dying to sleep coz we got home so late the night before and this was a super duper early morning flight so I was soooo sleepy!

Its vibrant but a tad too noisy for my liking.
And the touts! They drive me crazy.

I can't deal with the ERP, parking and crowd in town anymore.
(Parking cost me $13.80 yesterday ... OUCH!)

Smoker-who-wants-to-quit: Congrats on thinking of quitting dear! Its the first step to success! I wasnt a real heavy smoker but I did smoke since school (hahah convent girls all very naughty!) I could either chain smoke (while drinking) or I could go for days without. But after the govt implemented no indoor smoking I got very frustrated trying to find an area to smoke.. and of coz I got older and started worrying about my health. (Young that time more reckless ahhah) But most of all I really need to thank God for giving me strength. I wanted to quit and I told myself its MIND OVER MATTER and that i can do it! So one day I just stopped, went cold turkey and never looked back since. :)

Little pinkie: LOL! Omg u are very sharp leh! yes... its my birthday present from Jungle Boy this year - so Im not too sure how much it is. Mine is Crazy Hour and my strap is red croco although we ordered another pink croco strap!!!! hahhahah! Next month then come. :)))) Very excited coz I really wan to wear a pink watch leh!!!!!!!!!

I hope you guys enjoyed the Kitty post - Im looking at the pictures once again and LOL-ing at the funny/weird/tak glam pictures!

But it was fun and Im glad I had a Hello Kitty party for myself - at least, once this lifetime.

Yesterday was another birthday celebration!

But alot more subdued, hehe.

We had a quiet family dinner for my mother-in-law birthday.

It feel so sophisticated and all I needed to do was to match it with a pair of heels and off to go for dinner!

Sorry for 'disappearing' over the weekend... was away for my birthday holiday in Bali!

It was so so so fun!

Been a long time since we have both been there, and Bali is still how I remembered it - Magical.

Today my birthday you know???

Turning 29 has been a pretty amazing milestone in my life.

I got married, discovered iphone, took up yoga again and had the most amazing Hello Kitty party last weekend.

But most importantly I thank God for blessing me so abundantly with family, friends and getting to know so many awesome people in this little space of mine - here.

I thank you all from the bottom of my lil heart.

I hope to be writing as long as there will be people to drop by, I wish for love and blessings to every single one of u beautiful, beautiful girls.

And now Im gonna cry.

Busy Lovely Saturday

Hello everyone!

If u are wondering about my disappearance.. *ahem* hehehe.. thats becoz I finally realised how to play Bakery Story .. thats why! *Sheepish smile*

Everyday I bake cake,pie,muffin etc etc and buy things with the 'money' I get!

Wahahhaha ok ok Im really super S.L.O.W becoz I see other ppl reach Level dunno how gazillion but Im still at level 10 lor.

Anyways!

Last week was an extremely busy week!!

So many JOYFUL events!

All in oneeee day :D

First we went to my dearest Ber's Grand Opening of her Boutique, LoveMi!

Im soooo happy for her!

U've worked so hard for this my darling!

Bought some clothes to support her too!

Hahah an excuse to go SHOPPING!

We drank alittle, shopped alittle, and even had a great chat with her wonderful boyfriend!

Was so unwilling to leave.. but another event beckons!

Soooo excited to see my long-time girly girlfriend who just had baby Number 2!

And I missed little Ruff too!

The other girls couldnt make it but its ok!

And again, we couldnt stay long coz I had another Baby Shower to go to!

She did such a great job organising the shower!

It was truly a joyous day - spending time with loved ones and close friends, knowing how blessed and happy they are makes me a very very happy girl too.
