I first got to know about Dr Oatcare through a good friend of mine who was looking for a healthy alternative to milk for her toddler who is unfortunately lactose-intolerant. My curiosity was piqued and I wanted to try it when I read the ingredient list and found out that Dr Oatcare is 100% natural with no additives, no preservatives, or artificial flavoring. As a stay-home mother of 2 young kids, I realized I fall sick easily and worry that I don't take in enough nutrition when I get really busy with the family.

Dr Oatcare - My Secret Milk Booster

Oats is also a well-known breast milk booster so I always recommend it to mummies who ask me how to increase their milk supply. In addition, Dr Oatcare has no added sugar, helps lower “bad” cholesterol and balance blood sugar levels so I don't worry about gaining too much weight (cause Im actually trying to lose my baby kilos from the pregnancy!) 😆

As Dr Oatcare is a blend of nutritious oats meal drink made with Montana Embryo Oats™, 17 organic seeds, 9 mixed nuts, and fortified with natural seaweed calcium - its safe for children above 1 year old and just as good for the whole family too! 💪

Enjoy it anytime of the day ~ I love drinking mine warm!

The older toddler loves emulating me and drinking it along with a snack too!

Cheers to good health!

Every cup helps promote brain, eyes, heart health, while improving gastrointestinal health and especially for Elroy - it helps build stronger bones and teeth for growing kids!

Dr Oatcare retails at $32 (U.P $38) for tin/box of 30 x 25g.

Thanks for looking! xo

I have a small secret to tell you. Actually .. both of my boys wear the same size diaper. 😅 The toddler is 3 years old right now and he knows how to go to the toilet in the day but we still need a good absorbent diaper for him at night because he can PEE SO MUCH ZOMG. The baby will drink milk once in the night and he doesn't really stir til morning so that's great. I hate doing midnight diaper changes because it'll wake the both kids up and then bye bye sleep to all of us. 😒

*NEW* HUGGIES Gold Pants Review + Win a FREE Tula

My parenting journey so far usually revolves around a few things - Nap times, sugar rush and diaper accidents. My pet peeve is waking up to stained, wet bed sheets and washing laundry (Don't we all.) Then I got to know about the *NEW* Huggies Gold Pants cushiony soft fit that provides overnight absorbency of up to 12 hours! No more leaks and a more comfortable sleep for both of them, I hope!

*Cute baby butt for attention* 😆

Clinically proven to help prevent diaper rash, this new design has an airy top-sheet together with 100% breathable waistband, which helps in enabling air-through comfort around baby’s waist and delicate bottom.

Sounds good to me because my boys have rather sensitive skin, so Im careful about diaper quality in case it makes them itchy. Their diaper has to be very soft too, so that they feel comfortable all day. Elroy has eczema so whatever he wears eg clothes and diapers have to be lightweight and cushiony snug without irritating his skin. He wore the Huggies Gold Pants and told me its very 'SOFT"! In addition, the Huggies wetness indicator on the diaper tells me when to change their diaper and the handy tape on the back of the diaper makes cleaning up a breeze as I can roll it up and dispose it cleanly and conveniently. Thumbs up~! 👍

I like the Huggies Gold Pants for their really soft and elastic waistband that is stretchable and the diaper conforms to their body nicely around the tummy and thigh area. This ensures a great fit and flexibility to their growing bodies. The advanced leakage barriers have double layered leakage protection leg guards which is a comfortable underwear-like fit. Perfect for the both kids Elroy and Elric even though the older toddler is walking and running around, while the baby is just learning how to flip!

Bye bye!

Chawanmushi .. one of our favorite family must-orders whenever we head out for Japanese food. My toddler loves it alot - perhaps its the silky smooth egg custard sweet savory texture that makes eating it such a joy. Or the various ingredients that can be found in chawanmushi makes it very appealing for the young kids to scoop it up, like a surprise - spoonful by spoonful. 😊

Silky Smooth Chawanmushi with LILO Premium Ikan Bilis Powder + GIVEAWAY

Chawanmushi can be rather expensive in restaurants, so I try to make my own version right at home with the ingredients that I have right in the fridge. I really like how you can add anything to this dish and it will still taste really good plus its so simple to make once you get the recipe right. Smooth and silky, just like tofu! 💗

The question I receive often via PMs are - "How do you make yours so smooth?" Or, "how do I get rid of the 'holes' in my steamed egg?" Well, read on! (There's also a #GIVEAWAY at the end!) Its very simple actually and you can adjust it to your taste easily at home yourself.

Chawanmushi Recipe (Serves 2)

You will need :

1 egg (around 60g)

Just about any ingredients that you wanna use, today Im using :

Shimeji Mushrooms

Threadfin Fish

Edamame Beans

Fishcake

Simply add one tsp of dashi granules in 50ml of warm water so it will dissolve. Add one spoonful of ikan bilis powder provided by LILO Ikan Bilis Powder (Click here to read more about why Ikan Bilis Powder is good for growing kids) into the dashi stock. If you dont have dashi stock at home, you can use just about any stock eg chicken stock and add ikan bilis powder in too. Or even plain water - thats how versatile LILO Ikan Bilis is! 😋

Do you know that LILO Premium Ikan Bilis Powder is now NEA-licensed? This means that the powder is made in a kitchen that is inspected and approved under NEA stringent control! As a parent, its my priority to make sure the food I offer is produced in a hygienic and safe environment. In addition, Ikan Bilis has a good amount of iron, healthy polyunsaturated fats (omega-3 fatty acids) and calcium (bones must not be removed) and because LILO Premium Ikan Bilis has been soaked before baking, its not salty at all for the little ones. 💪

Mix well and add room temperature water to make it 150ml stock in total.

TIP*** I realize you need your stock to be 2.5x in volume with one egg (roughly 60g each) to get that smooth custardy texture. Any lesser and it will end up being too 'egg-like' and thick.

(Note also: I use warm water to dissolve the powders but add room temperature water so that I wouldn't 'cook' the egg when I add the egg in)

Add beaten egg in the mixture

Add ingredients into a small bowl or like me, simply get chawanmushi cups from Daiso. They are pretty and the covered lids makes the egg steam evenly.

U can sieve the mixture in carefully, or if you are in a hurry - you may omit this step, no worries.

I like to 'fill' the bottom with the heavier ingredients like meat followed by veg and mushrooms. The fishcake can be placed at the top coz its very cute and looks appetizing for the young ones.

TIP*** To get the smoothest chawanmushi texture, you need to control your fire well. Once your water starts boiling, turn your fire to the lowest setting and place the cups in it gently. Steam on low heat for around 10-12 mins and check by poking a toothpick in if you are just trying out this method. If you use an alternative meat like chicken, make you slice it thin so it gets cooked through.

Shortly .... a warm cup of chawanmushi to fill little happy bellies!😍

This is always a delicious side dish for my toddler and he loves eating it with a bowl of rice or with some udon! Versatile and quick to make, its worth mastering this coz its always a hit with the family! You can also add just about any ingredient, the variations are limitless 😇

Hope you enjoy my little share! How about a GIVEAWAY now???

In conjunction with LILO Premium Ikan Bilis Powder - 4 LUCKY WINNERS will walk away with either

To say that I was busy over the weekend was an understatement. 😆 Not only did I have a mini helper drama earlier in the week (we sent her back) - it was the same week I decided to get the Flisat Table from IKEA to add to the toddler's play area (See previous post here) The table was a breeze to set-up, yay! Cleaned up the play area and here we go!

Elroy's Play Area New Flisat Table From IKEA

Ever since Elroy started school, I have been wanting to get him a practical study table where by he can do some reading or painting since he like doing art and craft. You know, the usual toddler stuff.

What I like most about the Flisat Table from IKEA is how sturdy it is, and look at the legs of the table. I can adjust the height accordingly as he grows. So this is definitely value-for-money in the long run!

Bag For Fun (BFF) SG Review

Bag For Fun (BFF) delivers convenience in an all-you-need busy box filled with educational resources for creating fun memories with your children. Perfect for 1.5 - 6 year olds, Bag For Fun create their own storybooks so that they're appropriate for kids. Activities are then designed based on the stories/themes to encourage active learning and discovery of the world.

Created by Moms, reviewed by experts, tested on children.

This fun yet educational busy box came with a lot of goodies!

This Box 1 comes with 6 different activities and for this box - there is an interesting book to read, along with several activities! The story in the book relates directly to the activity that you can do with your child.

Each activity is conveniently packed into one bag, so there is minimal mess and it all comes with instructions to walk you through on what the items are for exactly.

A colorful mess on his new table! Im excited!

I wouldn't be going into exact details on the activities coz I want to keep an element of surprise if you decide to get one for your kid, or perhaps gift it to a special little loved one.

Elroy is intrigued! The first thing he grabbed with the conical flask and told me he wanted to pour water into the cups. Good way to develop hand and eye coordination. In addition, we got to learn interesting information like, "What is the color of copper after it has been submerged in the solution, eg. water + soap."

I also love how Bag For Fun thinks about doing stuff together with Mummy too! Elroy grabbed the colorful containers that we can make our unique and personalized friendship bands and there is a small surprise packet inside! (Will reveal it in my IG's Instastories!)

Each theme spans across 3 busy boxes. Bag For Fun takes effort to ensure that activities under a theme will cover all 7 main learning areas, relevant to the developmental progress of children at their age. We were kept busy at the new table for awhile! I miss doing stuff with my toddler especially ever since the baby brother came along. I loved connecting with the older brother through play and he kept asking to me read the story to him. I guess he missed having my full attention, too. 😙

Each Bag For Fun Box will cost $39, and all readers can simply quote [Elaine10] for 10% off. To purchase, please head to : https://shopee.sg/Edu-Fun-Bag-For-Fun-(1st-Box)-BOND-LEARN-WITH-YOUR-CHILDREN-(1.5-6-y.o.)-i.47307927.747281792

I can't stand mess - in my perfect home and in my perfect world, there will be NO mess, no clutter no dust. But I dun live in a bubble, nor do I live in a perfect world. With 2 kids, there can never be 'no-mess'. All the 2 year old needs to do is to wake up, and 5 minutes later, its messy liao. 😅 My room machiam warzone everyday! Maybe I should do a room tour soon. 😝

Elroy's Play Area Overhaul

Is it an understatement to say that kids these days are super privileged and blessed? Before they are born, well-meaning friends and relatives start sending presents along with toys and more toys. Being the first grandchild in the family - I remember loading so much stuff, clothes, toys alike just from the full month party and throughout the years, everything just exponentially increased. I need some new cabinets and thus that was my 2017 year-end plan.

IKEA - Still the best place to get everything for the house all under one roof! The showflat styles made for a great area to pose LOL

Since the toddler was in school, I wasted no time heading to the IKEA kids department to check out colorful storage ideas.

I know I need a small cabinet for his playarea, one which we can keep his little cars and toy buses neatly

There are several types of storage spaces, so choose one that suits your family and style best.

Comparing prices and styles

For those new to IKEA, you can grab a piece of their order form and note down the items that you need and pick it up at the self-pick area.

The hub assembling the cabinet that we chose.

Check out the Before pic below

After

I placed Elroy's little toys like Lego pieces in this new storage area for easy retrieval.

The bins are light and colorful

Previously he had so many loose cars, trains and little toy figurines that tend to end up in other toy boxes coz he simply had too many. Now I just place it in the storage bins and he can look for them easily!

We also got these plastic lids for the bins to keep the dust out

Look how neat they are!

We love the new area!

So much neater and we got rid of the old table which took up so much space and made everything look so messy. Now we have a larger area to play and read.

There is still a lot of stuff and toys - its not perfect but slowly I guess! My new year resolution is to have lesser clutter, lesser buying (LOLOLOL) and to keep everything as simple as possible.

Hope you gained some ideas for your kid's room and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! Thanks for dropping by! Looking forward to a better 2018! 💗
