Recently I attended the COLLECTION "Bright & Glow" BB Cream and Compact media launch party at Carpenter & Cook cafe and it was such a pretty tea party!
Collection "Bright & Glow" BB cream & Compact Foundation
It was my first time at Carpenter & Cook and I love how whimsical everything there looks!
Even the teacups look so Alice-in-Wonderland
And the yellow and blue theme to match the makeup packaging from COLLECTION!
Such a quaint cafe!
Photobooth time with the huge cut-out of the Collection Bright & Glow BB Cream! This range is only available in Asia although the brand is from UK. Wheeee~ we lucky girls!
Collection Bright & Glow BB Cream ($16.90, 30ml) has an advanced formulation that keeps skin hydrated for a shine-free, fresh-looking glow all day. The high coverage Compact Powder ($18.90) for a natural and radiant glow. Ultra-blendable powder provides a shine-free, flawless effect all day.
With my fellow good friends at the launch!
Unfortunately I had a prior dinner engagement that evening but I was so glad to be able to catch up with some of my girlfriends at the party before I had to leave :)
My pretty babes xo
The Review
I received the COLLECTION "Bright & Glow" BB Cream in Medium-Dark & Compact Foundation in Ivory 2 in my press kit, along with a really cute thumbdrive and cookies from Carpenter & Cook!
The BB cream is formulated for Asian skin and it has SPF 30 and Vitamin C to keep skin radiant. The Compact Foundation contains SPF 20 and is Oil & Fragrance Free.
Initial Impressions : I like how cutesy the packaging is! The yellow and blue polka dots look really fun and the prices are definitely easy on the pocket. The BB Cream blends easily on skin and is slightly sheer. It does have a matte finish and if you have good skin, loose powder would be sufficient for a clean look. However, you might need to apply concealer if you have acne or if you are conscious of problem areas like dark circles. It is Oil-Free but unfortunately it did oxidized a little on me - perhaps applying the lighter shade with a light hand would have matched me better. My T-zone also felt oily after 3-4 hours. However, the rest of my face remained oil-free.
I prefer the Compact Foundation in comparison as it provided better coverage even under my usual tinted sunscreen. I like using it on my T-zone and under eye area (I dun usually apply powder over my whole face) as I find that it does highlight my features with a subtle brightening effect. I also use a brush instead of the sponge provided as I find that using a brush to apply powder gives me a lighter finish that does not look too thick or mask-like. I have been using the powder in rotation with my other powders, especially when Im heading out for a night out, or need more coverage.

Thanks for dropping by, guys!
Hope you enjoyed the pics and the little review.
I'll be off to Beijing tonight and its awfully irritating how blogspot (my blog host) is banned in China! Like, alamak #YUSO troublesome. I have been meaning to change my webhost... but sometimes dot.com also has its disadvantages. I mean, nothing is perfect in this world and sometimes I have to weight the pros and cons before I decide what to do right. Like Starhub and Mio TV.....
