When I was a little girl, I remember wondering why my skin was so itchy. Unknown to me then, I suffered from a common skincare ailment called eczema. Dry skin that felt itchy and tight was a daily occurrence that I had no solution to, except to live with it and pray that I don't suffer from flares whenever the weather or my bodycare changed.

Im quite certain that I must have gone through so many brands of lotions and creams that I have lost count of the number of tubes and jars that promise to relieve me of my skin problems but to no avail.

One of the main reasons that I love Physiogel is that they are totally free of preservatives, perfumes and colourants, Which makes them suitable for then whole family and even for my little toddler! The pure and gentle ingredients in their formulas means that I have no qualms introducing this to even the most fastidious mummy friends looking for a lotion for their babies' sensitive skin.

Even though my skin doesn't suffer from horrible flares as much these days, I am still allergic to harsh detergents and sometimes even washing the son's clothes might trigger off a certain eczema spot on my fourth finger. Once that happens, it will itch, peel and be so unbearable that I have resorted to wearing my wedding ring on the other hand as not to aggravate my skin condition. 😢

Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, Physiogel's Calming Relief A.l. Body Lotion is formulated specially to calm and relieve dry, irritated and sensitive skin. Which is perfect for eczema-prone skin like mine or for days when my toddler (who inherited my skin condition, oh the guilt!) will break out in rashes and itch and irritate him no end coz he will try to scratch it, making it worse. And because he is so young, I try not to expose him to topical medications like steroids unnecessarily.

The light texture of this lotion meant that product is quickly absorbed, leaving an almost non-oily residue on the surface. A small 50c amount of lotion also goes a long way, with me focusing a little more on drier areas like my elbows or knees.

I've been using the Physiogel Calming Relief A.l. Body Lotion for awhile now and so far my skin is receptive to it, feeling supple but most importantly I like how I can share this with my young toddler on days where his eczema will flare. This lotion immediately calms his skin down providing moisturizing relief and to my relief as well. 😃
