La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + (Plus) Review - Does it live up to its hype?

[Review] When a product promises to 1) correct the appearance of blemishes, 2) unclog blocked pores, 3) help to refine skin texture and 4) control the appearance of shine, - what actually goes through your mind? For me, I was intrigued yet skeptical. As a beauty blogger, I go through new products often enough to usually take such information with a pinch of salt. But every time I Google about the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo +, I realize that its getting alot of positive hype online! Cant wait to try it!
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo +
Based on a unique partnership with dermatologists worldwide and through extensive research, La Roche-Posay introduces new Effaclar Duo[+] anti-blemish cream, specifically formulated to target the key signs of oily, blemish-prone skin.

Active ingredient innovation: anti-red and brown marks efficacy.
PROCERAD™. A patented ceramide helps protect against the appearance of red or brown marks.  This new active ingredient strengthens the anti-imperfection performance of the current active ingredients:
NIACINAMIDE- The reference anti-inflammatory active ingredient for intensive soothing.
PIROCTONE OLAMINE - To combat bacterial proliferation.
LHA AND SALICYLIC ACID - For their complementary keratolytic actions.
TARGETED LINOLEIC ACID - To regulate keratinocytes, plus target the follicle.
While the predecessor (Effaclar Duo) has Micronized Benzoyl Peroxide listed as one of its ingredients, the *NEW* and improved La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + uses Salicylic Acid instead. (Which I personally prefer) Read more on Bezoyl Peroxide & Salicylic Acid : here

Overall Review : I like the fresh citrus-y smell that the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + has! The gel-cream like texture is light and absorbs quickly into my skin. I tried using it all over my face as per instructions given (I have sensitive combination skin) but it felt slightly drying on my cheeks after frequent use. The area on my nose and T-zone felt fine though. I didnt notice much oil-control as promised, but after using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + on my new pimple (see below pic for reference) , I found out that it actually reduced the size of my pimple and helped prevent scar formation. I would recommend the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + on target areas and on acne-prone skin or just as spot treatment on days where you get an occasional breakout.
The La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + is currently retailing for $38.90 (40ml) and it is now available at the La Roche-Posay’s new multi-brand boutique, the Derma Center. It is also available at major pharmacies like Watsons, Guardian and Unity, and selected hospital pharmacies.
